I have always enjoyed working with colored pencils, as they are the melding of drawing (one of my favorite means of expression) and painting. Their use as a "serious" creative medium has grown over the last 40 years and are now widely accepted as a fine art material. They are readily available in art supply stores and like most other art materials, colored pencils come in a broad range of low to high quality sets.
